My name is Mason Smith, and I would like to announce my candidacy for Wayne County Commission, District 4. I have been a lifelong resident of Wayne County, and I am honored to call Wayne County my home. My parents are Brent and Heather Smith, of Collinwood. I am a recent graduate of Collinwood High School where I ranked in the Top Ten of my class and served as the Class Treasurer, Principal’s Assistant, and School Board Student Representative. I am currently a Dean’s List student at Columbia State Community College majoring in Elementary Education. I also serve as a Board Member of the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, and as an Advisory Board Member of the Butterfly Foundation. In addition, I am the bookkeeper for my family-owned business, Collinwood & Barlow Auto Parts, and a part-time substitute teacher. I am not afraid of hard work, and I am dedicated and passionate about helping the wonderful citizens of Wayne County. As a future educator with experience in the school environment, I believe that our children are our future. As a county commissioner, I will work to ensure that Wayne County is the same county for our future as the one I have had the pleasure to reside. There are two seats available in the upcoming election in which my father, Brent Smith, is seeking one of the seats also. We make a great team in running our family business, although we do have different outlooks on certain situations. I would deeply appreciate the support of the citizens of District 4 and look forward to serving you. Please contact me at 931-724-4620 if you have any questions or concerns.
