Assistant District Attorney Lee Brooks has announced his candidacy for Circuit Court Judge for the 22nd Judicial District, Division III covering Maury, Giles, Lawrence and Wayne counties. Despite his lifelong conservative voting record, he has chosen to run as an Independent candidate. “I do not believe judges should be Republican or Democrat, they should just be judges. Judges should only read and apply the law, which should not be based on a political affiliation.”

He has dedicated his life to being a public servant, serving in the United States Marine Corps and then in law enforcement for 14 years. He taught high school for 8 years while also coaching baseball and football. He continues to be involved with youth as a high school sports official.  He had his own law firm where he handled criminal and civil matters, many of the clients he helped were indigent.  He served as an Assistant Public Defender in the 22nd district and currently serves as an Assistant District Attorney in a neighboring district.

He was born and raised in Maury County and has also raised his family there. He has been married to his wife, Tonda, for 29 years.  She grew up in Mt. Pleasant and has been a registered nurse for 34 years. They have two adult children and a son-in-law.

He believes service and experience matter! He is the only candidate that has trial experience testifying as a law enforcement officer, and as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney. He is asking for your vote!  Early voting starts July 15 through July 30th.  Election day is August 4th. Learn more about Lee at www.leebrooksforjudge.com.
