On Friday, March 22, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Clifton Fire Chief Randy Burns made a call out over the emergency radio that he never expected to make – his own house was on fire.

The home on Church Street in Clifton was engulfed when firefighters arrived on scene. It is suspected that the fire began in the attached garage and spread quickly to the house itself. Firefighters from Clifton City, Station 8 (Eagle Creek), Station 7 (Topsy), Station 9 (Ovilla), and some from Hardin County were dispatched to help battle the blaze, but the home was unfortunately a total loss. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.
