On October 1, 2023, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes huddles from Wayne County hosted their annual Fields of Faith at Pat Brewer Stadium. The huddle groups from Clifton, Collinwood, and Waynesboro stood up and showed out for Christ! Everyone enjoyed watching students from Wayne County working together for God’s glory through skits, dramas, and songs.

Brianna Brewer, a former FCA member and now an FCA character coach, did a fabulous dance praising God. What a blessing to see Brianna and the huddles using their talent to win at the most important game: life. Songs were performed by Miley White, Shaina and Shawna Calton, Jonah Retherford, and Landon Thompson. These songs were so beautiful. God has blessed these students with so much talent. The song, “Gratitude,” made people feel very thankful for God’s blessings.

The song, “God is in this Story,” went along with Kade Shultz’s testimony. God has been with Kade on his healing journey since his “incident,” as Kade calls it. We all wish Kade the best as he continues with his surgeries and his recovery, and pray for a complete healing.

Isabella Morrow, a former FCA leader, spoke on how everyone needs to spread the word of Jesus – don’t let fear, weirdness, being out of our comfort zone, feeling ashamed of the past, etc., hinder us. We should all love Jesus and want to tell others about him. Isabella used this quote from a preacher, “I didn’t realize how empty I was until I realized how full I could be.” Think about that! We should all strive to make Jesus our focal point. We should all live for Jesus 100%. Isabella also said, “We should not just want a drip of the Living Water, but let as much as possible pour over us, go for the whole bucket.” Imagine what this world would be like if we did that.

This truly was an amazing night. God’s Holy Spirit was in the stadium. Wayne County is truly blessed to have students who are willing to stand up boldly for God by leading prayers, performing skits and dramas, dancing to a praise song, singing, testifying, and not being afraid to tell others about Jesus.

The FCA huddles are so appreciative of the support from this community. The huddles appreciate their FCA huddle coaches, their character coaches, Ben and Maicee Hanback, Ben Gooch and the FCA community, the area churches and pastors, and their parents and families. FCA is supported by so many people. We live in a wonderful county that can always come together to serve an almighty God.

Mark your calendars on October 6, 2024, for Fields of Faith ’24!
