Early voting for the upcoming Federal and State General Election/ Clifton and Collinwood Municipal Election will continue through Thursday, November 3 at the Election Commission Office in the Wayne County Courthouse on the square. Seats on the ballot include the Governor of Tennessee, U.S. House of Representatives District 7, and TN House of Representatives District 71. Also on the ballot are three seats on the Clifton City Commission and two seats on the Collinwood City Commission, along with four constitutional amendments.
Candidates on the ballot in the governor’s race are incumbent Governor Bill Lee (R); Jason Brantley Martin (D); and Constance M. Every, John Gentry, Basil Marceaux, Charles Van Morgan, Alfred O’Neal, Deborah Rouse, Michael E. Scantland, and Rick Tyler, all Independent candidates.
Six candidates are on the ballot for the three seats available on the Clifton City Commission. The candidates who qualified to run are Jeremy “Tree” Davis, Michael A. Francis, Jeff Letson, James Newcomb, Tammy Prince, and Gindy Shelby. These three seats are being vacated by current commissioners Stacey Huntingford, Randy Burns, and Layton Packwood, all of whom chose not to seek re-election.
On the ballot for the Collinwood City Commission are only two candidates, Shaundale Hanback and Kimberly O. McFall. These candidates will fill the seats of retiring commissioners Danny Sandusky and Butch Kephart.
Election Day in Tennessee is Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Those who choose to vote on that day will vote at their assigned polling place.
