The Wayne County Museum is truly a treasure that an unfortunate number of Wayne Countians have not yet had the pleasure of touring. Free to the public, the museum has military memorabilia donated by locals, along with displays highlighting Wayne County’s vast musical talents, both past and present.

The museum is housed in a building on the Waynesboro square that was donated just for that purpose by Ms. Virginia “Jenny” Fielder. Ms. Fielder’s kindness created a location for an institution that had been planned and dreamed of for many years.

Following some closures due to winter weather, the Wayne County Museum is now open once again. The hours are Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Museum volunteers take turns opening the museum each day.

The museum is located on the south side of the square, one building down from the radio station. Everyone is invited to come enjoy this historic place…you’ll want to come back again and again! For more information, call the museum at 931-722-2256.
