The Collinwood High School Trojans baseball team started their district play for the 2022 season with a two-win series against Santa Fe. On Monday, March 28th, Kelsey Moore and Fletcher Thompson led the Trojans to an 11-3 victory. Moore had four strikeouts, and Thompson had seven. The Trojans’ defense backed up their pitchers well. Blake Whitten had the first Trojan homerun of the season! Griffin Pigg had five RBIs, Branston Holt had two, and Carter Smith had one.
On Tuesday, March 29th, Carter Smith led the Trojans to a 10-0 victory with nine strikeouts and three RBIs. Nick Sanderson had two RBIs, and Eli Broome and Griffin Pigg each had one RBI. The Trojans’ defense worked hard for the win.
The Trojans will face off against Culleoka, Summertown, and Giles County this week. Good luck Trojans!
