Although the autumnal equinox doesn’t take place until September 23rd, everyone will be able to get a taste of fall this weekend at Waynesboro’s Annual Pumpkin Harvest Festival. All are invited by the Waynesboro Downtown Committee, sponsors of the festival, to come to the Waynesboro square on Saturday, September 16th from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The Pumpkin Harvest Festival began as an annual community event on the public square for many decades. It was established by the city as a way to support the community, promote involvement, and encourage civic pride. After being held at the Waynesboro City Park for a few years, the festival is back on the square and better than ever!

The Pumpkin Harvest Festival is situated to welcome over 60+ vendors offering a wide array of items, including homemade arts & crafts, candles, freshly baked food, and much more. There will also be freshly harvested pumpkins, gourds, mums, and cornstalks for sale so you can start decorating for the fall season.

Numerous food and snack vendors will be on hand offering a variety of scrumptious foods. Hamburgers, hotdogs, barbecue, pizza, and wings, together with homemade desserts and sweets, kettle corn, shaved ice, caramel apples, cotton candy, and fresh lemonade are bound to generate the perfect autumn flair! Several kids’ activities will be there too. Watch their little eyes light up when seeing the free bouncy house and slide!

Music will set a festive tone with the spinning of records, DJ style. Country Road Animal Rescue will be on site offering adoptions in hopes of finding their furry friends a forever home. Lots of the square merchants will be participating with great bargains and sales occurring on the sidewalk and inside.

Be sure to stop on the square Saturday for this popular event!
