The Sgt. Donnie E. Horton American Legion Post 254 Honor Guard was very proud to present the colors at last week’s Nashville Predators vs. Vancouver Canucks hockey game at Bridgestone Arena. Gold Star mother Cathy Mullins sang the National Anthem.

The presenting of the colors is a time-honored tradition carried out by members of the military or military organizations. Flag bearers carry flags representing each branch of the military and remain at attention while honor is given, such as saluting the flag, placing hands over hearts, reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, or performing the Star-Spangled Banner.

The veterans who are members of the Post 254 Honor Guard said that they were very thankful to be asked by the Predators organization to carry out this honorable ceremony.
