On June 14th from 5pm to 7pm, we will have a Garden Pest & Disease Workshop taught by Dr. Natalie Bumgarner, UT’s Plant Science Residential and Consumer Extension Specialist.   We will discuss common fruit and vegetable diseases and pests as well as conventional and organic control options.

There is a small fee for this workshop.  The fee covers the workshop, materials, and a meal from Golden Goodies.  Participants will have a choice of Turkey, Ham, or Pimento Cheese Sandwich and it will come with chips, dessert, and a drink.  We only have 30 spaces available.  You must register and pay at our office to secure a spot.  The deadline to register and pay is June 7th.

This workshop will be taught in a local Wayne County garden!  To protect privacy, the location will be provided via e-mail to registered participants.

Did you know that we can help identify your garden pests and diseases and offer control measures which are backed by studies performed by the University of Tennessee or other State Extension services?  If the agent is unable to identify the pest or disease, UT has a wonderful distance diagnostics department that can aid in identifying the pest or disease and offer control measures.  You can bring samples of the pest or diseased plant tissue in a sealed plastic bag to the office or e-mail good, detailed photos Megan Harris.  Please remember that our ability to identify your pest or disease is only as good as the sample you provide.

If you have any questions, please contact Megan Harris at [email protected] or 931-722-3229.
