Frank Hughes Lions Basketball came out with a win in front of their hometown crowd for their first round Regional game against McEwen. The Lions then traveled to Bethel University to pull out a win in the semi-finals against Houston County.
Frank Hughes Lions fought for the Regional Championship title until the buzzer sounded in their fight against the McKenzie Rebels. Unfortunately, the Lions came up short. Sophomores Weston Lineberry and Aiden Dicus, along with Senior Ethan Nance, took home All-Regional titles.
The Frank Hughes Lions earned a berth in the Sub-State game, which was played on Monday evening, March 6. Results were not available as of press time this week, but watch next week’s edition of The Wayne County News for a wrap-up of the game.
