The 12th Annual Butterfly 5K Run/Walk and Fun Run are taking place this Saturday, June 5 – rain or shine. The 5K Run will begin promptly at 8:00 am and will be followed by the 1-mile Fun Run for kids 12 and under.
Runners can register the morning of the race from 6:30 to 7:30. Pre-registered runners can begin picking up their race bibs and race packets beginning at 6:30. There are nearly 500 pre-registered runners, so get there early enough to park and get your race items by 7:30! Masks will be required during the registration process and will be provided by the Foundation.
This year the Run will not begin with the runners on the bridge but in the park. Walkers and those with strollers will begin at the back of the pack. This year there will be True Chip Timing, which means that the timing device in the bib will begin as the runner crosses the starting line and will record the finish time as the runner crosses the finish line. This will help runners to be spaced out so there is no need to be bunched up. This is a safety measure because of COVID-19. NO DOGS will be allowed on the race course.
