4-H Camp Sign-ups
To Begin Soon
Time to register for 4-H Camp is just around the corner! We have a great week at camp planned for this summer – each day has a fun theme and challenges for the campers to participate in during the week. Some of the many activities your 4-H’er can enjoy include swimming in a large pool with a fun water slide, zip-lining, practicing marksmanship at the rifle range, working on their archery skills, creating colorful crafts and t-shirts at the craft and t-shirt house, and visiting the many creatures at the Wildlife Cabin.
Our dates this year for camp will be June 8-12 at the Ridley 4-H Center in Columbia. If your 4-H’er is playing sports this summer, you can pick them up for practices or games during the week, and afterward they can return to camp to continue the fun.
We will begin registering 4-H’ers for camp on May 4th at the Extension Office. If you are interested in participating in 4-H Camp, please contact Samantha Morrow at the Extension Office at 722-3229 or via e-mail at [email protected] for more information on pricing and any camping questions.
4-H Honor Club
2020 Service Project
Our 4-H Honor Club recently conducted a county-wide service project to collect items for the Champ’s Toy Chest at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, TN. Our 4-H’ers collected a total of 658 items to deliver to the hospital, including things such as toiletry items, toys, fuzzy socks, stuffed animals, coloring books, and arts and crafts supplies. Part of the 4-H Pledge says “I pledge my hands to larger service,” and these 4-H’ers went above and beyond to collect items for their service project! So much appreciation goes to the 4-H’ers and the parents who donated the items! Words can’t express how proud I am of the 4-H’ers in Wayne County for collecting so many items to brighten the days of the pediatric patients at Vanderbilt Children’s and their families! When it’s safe to visit the hospital, we will make plans to deliver the items to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
