Winter Storm Damage Temporarily Closes Waynesboro Parks and Golf Course

Waynesboro City Park and the Waynesboro Municipal Golf Course are both closed at this time due to debris left behind by Winter Storm Fern. The ice storm hit Wayne County hard, with many residents losing power, and even more dealing with cleaning up tree limbs and other debris the storm left in its wake. All three City of Waynesboro park properties, City Park, the Golf Course, and the Sportsplex were all closed after the storm so the debris can be cleaned up. City Manager John Hickman said the closure of the parks is necessary for the safety of those who use them.

As of press time, no decision had yet been made as to when the parks will re-open. Crews are working daily to clean up the debris.
