CHS to Celebrate 100 Years of Trojan Legacy with Homecoming 2026

Posted

Collinwood High School is preparing for a Homecoming celebration unlike any other as the school honors a century of Trojan tradition and celebrates 100 years since its first graduating class in 1927. This year’s Homecoming theme, “100 Years of Trojan Legacy: Our Story Has Only Begun,” recognizes the generations of students, faculty, staff, families, and community members who have helped shape the history of Collinwood High School.

Homecoming Week will take place October 19–23, 2026, with a full schedule of activities designed to bring students together, celebrate school spirit, and honor the traditions that have made CHS such a special part of the Collinwood community.

Throughout the week, students will participate in a variety of friendly competitions and activities, including classroom door decorating, a lip-sync battle, field day competitions, banner design, and a schoolwide pep rally. This year’s dress-up days will take students on a journey through the decades, beginning with the Roaring 1920s on Monday, followed by the 1950s and 1960s on Tuesday and the 1980s and 1990s on Wednesday. Thursday will feature class colors, while Friday will be a celebration of Trojan pride as students and staff wear their green and white.

The celebration will continue on Friday, October 23, with the annual CHS Homecoming Parade beginning at 4:00 p.m. Parade participants will line up at the Collinwood Recreation Building at 3:30 p.m. CHS encourages local businesses, churches, civic organizations, alumni, families, and community groups to participate in the parade and help make this milestone celebration one to remember. Former CHS graduates are especially encouraged to take part as the school celebrates a century of Trojan history. Community members are also invited to line the streets and cheer on the Trojans as the parade makes its way through Collinwood.

Those interested in participating in the parade are encouraged to register in advance using the online form available at https://forms.gle/hrvqougLwUJ5cbN6A.

Following the parade, the celebration will continue with a Homecoming tailgate at 5:30 p.m. CHS invites families, alumni, local businesses, and community organizations to join in the festivities, bring their chairs, set up, and enjoy an evening of food, fellowship, and Trojan pride. The Collinwood Trojans will then take on the Perry County Vikings at Pat Brewer Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Prior to kickoff, the CHS Quarterback Club will recognize its members, acknowledging the individuals whose dedication and support continue to make a difference in the Trojan football program.

One of the highlights of the evening will be the presentation of the 2026 CHS Homecoming Court, with the crowning of the Homecoming Queen taking place during halftime.

This year’s Senior Homecoming Queen Court includes Addie-Lin Morris, Brilea Pigg, Belle Robinson, Claire Scott, and Abbigail Smith.

Representing the underclassmen on the Princess Court are Avery Stults, Junior Princess; Emmy Brown, Sophomore Princess; and Maleigh Caperton, Freshman Princess.

As Collinwood High School reflects on a century of graduates, this year’s Homecoming serves as a reminder that the Trojan legacy extends far beyond the classroom, athletic field, or school building. It lives on through the generations of graduates who have carried their experiences, friendships, and school pride with them long after leaving CHS.

For nearly a century, Collinwood High School graduates have gone on to become educators, business owners, community leaders, parents, and neighbors, each carrying a piece of Trojan tradition with them. While much has changed throughout the years, the pride and sense of community that define Collinwood High School remain as strong as ever.

From former students returning to celebrate familiar traditions to current students creating memories of their own, Homecoming offers an opportunity to honor the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to the future.

Collinwood High School invites all alumni, families, and community members to be part of this historic celebration. Whether you graduated decades ago or are part of the next generation of Trojans, you are an important part of the CHS story.

One hundred years of graduates. Generations of tradition. One Trojan family.

Once a Trojan, Always a Trojan!
