Mr. William David Brewer was born at his home in Iron City, TN, on February 20, 1948, to his parents, the late Mr. Elvie Clovis Brewer and Mrs. Lavinia Stults Brewer. During his adolescent years, he would grow to appreciate and develop a love for the outdoors. He attended school in Collinwood, graduating from Collinwood High School with the class of 1967. Afterwards, he would bravely and proudly serve his nation, joining the United States Army in 1968. He served two years during the Vietnam War, and in 1970 returned to his home in Wayne County. Later, Mr. Brewer would meet and marry his wife, Mrs. Frances McNeese Brewer. The two married on June 30, 1972, forever intertwining their hearts and families, together raising their children and building their lives in the Iron City area of Wayne County. They remained married until her passing on January 12, 2023.
During his occupational years, Mr. Brewer worked as a carpenter, building homes and businesses and eventually joining the Carpenters Union. He was a long-time member of Burns Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and was one of the carpenters who built the building that is still in use today. Mr. Brewer was a loyal member of the Masonic Lodge #702 in Collinwood, proudly serving his lodge and community and being elevated to “Master Mason” on April 25, 1970. In his leisure time, he could be found watching Tennessee football, never missing an opportunity to watch his favorite team take the field. He also enjoyed target practicing. Those who knew him will remember his deep passion for golfing, a sport he frequently enjoyed as often as time would allow. However, he held no other moments in life closer to his heart than the moments he spent with his family and friends, and the time he spent at home with his beloved dog Max. Mr. William David Brewer passed from this life on December 28, 2025, making his stay on this earth some 77 years, 10 months and 8 days.
