Wayne Countians Celebrated America's Bicentennial in 1976

Posted

With America’s 250th Birthday (called the Semiquincentennial), being celebrated this year, Susan Gallian sent us this great photo of the ladies at Wayne County Bank in Waynesboro in 1976, celebrating America’s Bicentennial (two hundred years).

Many will recognize the beautiful ladies in the photo, even if it has been just a minute since it was taken. Didn’t they all look great in their 1776-era long dresses and bonnets?

Pictured left to right: Sue Yeiser, Dorothy Dixon Morris Harper, Blanche Castleman, Peggy Watson Warren, Mary Jo Miller, Susan Dooley Gallian, Sibyl Haggard, Ann Haggard Bevis, Gayle Brewer, and Ruth Ann Graham.

Thank you to Susan for the wonderful throwback photo!
