After 11 months and 29 days of anticipation, it’s finally here! What, you ask? Well, in case you haven’t seen all the signs or heard everyone talking, here’s the scoop – it’s the 2nd Annual Natchez Valley Pro Rodeo! Friday, May 8th and Saturday, May 9th are the days everyone, at least all the cowboys and cowgirls, have been waiting on. The rodeo is being held at the same location as last year, next to the Wayne County Ag Center located at the Wayne County Industrial Park between Collinwood and Waynesboro.
Dirt has been moved and spread around, and the parking lot for rodeo attendees has been transformed from the muddy mess it turned into after last year’s rodeo. The 1st Annual Natchez Valley Pro Rodeo in May of 2025 was still a huge success in spite of the rain and mud, so it will be even more successful this year in the drier weather.
Featuring two nights of IPRA/NCA-sanctioned action, gates will open at 5:00 PM with events beginning at 7:30 PM nightly. Events planned include Bull Riding, Barrel Racing, Bareback Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Saddle Bronc Riding, Tie Down Roping, Breakaway Roping, and Cowgirls Barrel Racing. A new addition to the rodeo this year, Mutton Busting, is predicted to be a big success for the kiddos. Note: Mutton Busting will be open to kids 55 pounds and under. Registration for Mutton Busting will be from 5:00 until 5:30 p.m. and will begin immediately following registration.
Rodeo organizers advise everyone to come early and come hungry! There will be food trucks, vendors, more kids’ activities, and a whole lot of family fun. Tickets will be available at the gate.
Sponsored by Wayne County Bank, Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company, and RaeKar, the Natchez Valley Pro Rodeo brings the Wild West right here to us in Wayne County, Tennessee.
