Former Wayne Halfway House CFO Indicted on Multiple Charges

Jeremy Bryant, age 47, of Waynesboro, was arrested on multiple charges last week after being terminated from his position as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Wayne Halfway House.

According to the arrest report from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Bryant was arrested on Friday after what is said to be an ongoing investigation.

Bryant’s arrest came after a capias was issued by the Wayne County Grand Jury on multiple charges: Theft of Property $100,000 - $250,000, Forgery, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, and Theft of Property $1,000 - $2,500.

Wayne Halfway House Owner and CEO Jason Crews gave The Wayne County News the following statement regarding Bryant’s arrest:

“The company identified irregularities involving Mr. Bryant last year. After a thorough internal review, Mr. Bryant was terminated and the matter was referred to law enforcement.

“This is an active law enforcement matter, and all future inquiries should be directed to the appropriate agency.”

Bryant’s next court appearance is scheduled for Monday, July 13.
