Posted

A Collinwood lady was tragically killed in a single-vehicle accident on Railroad Bed Road on Thursday, December 11th.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Gloria Roberts Houser, age 64, was traveling westbound on Railroad Bed Road near Collinwood in a Chevrolet Cruze. Ms. Houser reportedly failed to negotiate a curve, crossed the center line, and ran off the left side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a road sign and then a ditch before going airborne. It then struck an embankment and a standing tree.

It was confirmed that the vehicle did catch fire after coming to rest, but emergency responders were able to extricate Ms. Houser from the vehicle before it was fully engulfed in flames.

Sadly, after sustaining critical injuries during the accident, Ms. Houser was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The THP report stated that Ms. Houser was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. There were no other vehicles involved, and no passengers in Ms. Houser’s vehicle.
