The Collinwood Trojanettes won two matches last week against the Lady Warriors of Wilson and the Lady Vikings of Perry County, improving their record to 16-5.
On Tuesday, January 28th, the Trojanettes hosted the Lady Warriors of Wilson. The Trojanettes initially struggled but led by 8 points at halftime, 28-20. In the second half, the Trojanettes fought back and took the lead, finishing with a score of 58-45. The lead scorers were Tessa Statom with 14 points, Tevy Statom with 11 points, Myah Gray-Ayers with 10 points, and Belle Robinson with 10 points. Following were Ellie Blalock with 8 points, Sophia Keeton with 4 points, and Abby Smith with 1 point.
On Friday, January 31st, the Trojanettes of Collinwood traveled to Perry County to take on the Lady Warriors. The Trojanettes had a tremendous first half, leading with a score of 41-25. They continued ahead of the Lady Vikings, ending the game with a score of 59-43. The lead scorers of the game were Tessa Statom with 20 points, Tevy Statom with 14 points, and Belle Robinson with 10 points. Following were Myah Gray-Ayers with 6 points, Ellie Blalock with 5 points, and Sophia Keeton with 4 points.

The Trojans battled hard but ultimately fell short, ending the game with a final score of 47-61. The leading scorers of the game, each with 12 points, were Harrison Rich and Tate Linville. Following were Cole Risner with 8 points, Patch Craig with 5 points, Brody Holt with 4 points, Stetson Holt with 3 points, and Davin Brewer with 2 points.
On Friday, January 31st, the Trojans traveled to Perry County to compete with the Vikings. The Trojans had a tough start, trailing the Vikings 20-47 at halftime. They fought hard but couldn't make a comeback, finishing with a final score of 51-77. The lead scorers of the night were Harrison Rich with 17 points and Luke Holt with 14 points. Following were Tate Linville with 7 points, Stetson Holt with 5 points, Gentry Hart with 5 points, and Cole Risner with 3 points.
The CHS basketball teams will resume their games on Friday, February 7th, at home against Clifton. On Saturday, February 8th, they will host Huntland for Senior Night, which will take place before the boy's game at 6:00 p.m.-------Submitted by Brilea Pigg
