Christmas on the Square and Waynesboro Rotary Christmas Parade are Saturday, December 6th

Posted

Christmas time is officially here, and what better way to start it off than with a parade!

The annual Waynesboro Rotary Christmas Parade is this Saturday, December 6th, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The parade will once again travel through the heart of Waynesboro, beginning at the Piggly Wiggly parking lot, turning onto Main Street, and ending at Wayne County High School.

The theme for this year’s parade is “The Magic of Christmas.” The beautiful lighted floats, classic cars, ATVs, horses, and the WCHS band playing Christmas music will undoubtedly make everyone feel the Christmas magic.

Lineup for the parade will be at 5:00 p.m. in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot. Anyone with questions about the parade may call Kelley Baugus at 931-628-2556.

Prior to and during the Waynesboro Christmas Parade, another Waynesboro Christmas event will take place. The Downtown Waynesboro Committee has extended an invitation to everyone for Christmas on the Square, a collection of holiday festivities taking place on parade day, Saturday, December 6th, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Christmas on the Square will feature all kinds of food and crafts and will be a great place to get some of your Christmas shopping done right here at home.

The Wayne County Administrative Building (former courthouse) on the square will be open for everyone to enjoy the “Festival of Trees” from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

As promised, Santa Claus will be in Waynesboro on December 6th. Both Santa and Mrs. Claus will make a special trip from the North Pole, first stopping at the Administrative Building from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Anyone who wants to have a special photo with Santa is welcome.

We have been told that Santa and Mrs. Claus will leave the Administrative Building at 4:30 to get ready for the parade, which begins at 6:00 p.m.

Be sure to make it to town by 3 o’clock on Saturday so you will have plenty of time to enjoy Christmas on the Square and the Waynesboro Rotary Christmas Parade. Santa Claus is indeed coming to town!
