William Thomas (Tommy) Martin, Iron City, TN, was born January 3, 1952 in Wayne County, TN, the son of the late William Jackson and Annie Jeanette Lancaster Martin. He married the former Carolyn Ann Givens on August 25, 1973 and was a retired press operator at Murray Ohio. Mr. Martin departed this life Saturday, October 29, 2022 peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends, after a brief illness.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Carolyn Givens Martin; sons, Jason Martin, wife, Jessica and Josh Martin; grandchilden, MacKenzie Martin and Peyton Martin, all of Iron City, TN; brothers, Dalton Martin, Donnie Martin, Billy Martin, and Joel Martin all of Collinwood, TN; sisters, Annie (Robert) Ayers, Lutts, TN and Opal Hayes, Florence, AL; and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was preceded in death by brothers, James Martin, Jerry Martin, Robert Martin and sister, Ethel Martin.
Funeral services were Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 1 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Collinwood, TN with Robert Marks officiating. Burial was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Iron City, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Pallbearers were Joey West, Andy West, Chris Lawson, Joey Lawson, Levi Arnett, Peyton Martin.
