WCHS Lady Cats Softball Make History Participating in State Tourney

   As of press time on Tuesday, the Wayne County High School Lady Cats Softball Team had already made school history by advancing to compete in the TSSAA State Softball Tournament!

   The Lady Cats were named Region Champs after bringing home the Championship Trophy after defeating Bruceton/Hollow Rock. Following the Region Tournament, the Lady Cats defeated Huntland in the Sub State game on Sunday by a score of 5-2, making them Sub State champs and advancing them to the State Tournament.

   The Lady Cats were set to play Wartburg in the first round of the State Tournament on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. The is the first time a softball team from Wayne County High School has competed in a State Tournament, and only the second softball team from Wayne County to compete at State. The Clifton Lady Lions competed in the State Tournament in 1986.
