Waynesboro Woman Arrested for Aggravated Statutory Rape

   Shayla Ann Fisher, age 31, of Waynesboro, was arrested on Wednesday, October 13th on a charge of aggravated statutory rape. Fisher, the daughter of Wayne County Sheriff Shane Fisher, reportedly admitted to Lt. Jeremy Staggs of the Waynesboro Police Department that she was involved in an ongoing sexual relationship with a minor.

   “She’s afforded the same protections as every defendant and the case will work its way out in court,” Sheriff Fisher said in a phone call with WBBJ in Jackson. “I don’t condone any illegal activity.”

   Fisher was booked into the Wayne County Jail and released on $10,000.00 bond.
