Waynesboro Man Arrested on Child Abuse Charges

   Charles David Sanderson, age 31, of Waynesboro, was arrested on Wednesday, December 30th, 2020. Sergeant Eric Wilson of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office filed a report stating that he responded to a call of possible child abuse. A juvenile in the home allegedly stated that Sanderson grabbed him by the throat and held him down, and he could not breathe. Sgt. Wilson allegedly noted that the juvenile had red spots on his neck. The juvenile also allegedly stated that Sanderson had come into his room and held him down with a pillow over his face, and allegedly instructed another juvenile to cut him with a plastic knife. Sanderson was arrested on two charges of aggravated child abuse, and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $150,000.00 bond.
