Waynesboro Man Arrested for Theft, Aggravated Assault

   Roger Alan Cox, age 60, of Waynesboro was arrested on Thursday, April 16^th on charges of aggravated assault and theft of property. According to the report filed by Chief Deputy Donnie Carroll, Justin Russell was on Simmons Branch Road waiting on a friend to come get the truck he was driving, which had broken down. Russell alleged that Cox drove up to him and began to assault him by hitting him with a stick and kicking him. Russell said that when Cox finally left the scene, he took a wrench and Russell’s cell phone with him. Cox was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $26,000.00 bond.
