Waynesboro Man Arrested for Theft, Aggravated Assault

   Roger Alan Cox, age 60, of Waynesboro was arrested on Thursday, April 16th on charges of aggravated assault and theft of property. According to the report filed by Chief Deputy Donnie Carroll, Justin Russell was on Simmons Branch Road waiting on a friend to come get the truck he was driving, which had broken down. Russell alleged that Cox drove up to him and began to assault him by hitting him with a stick and kicking him. Russell said that when Cox finally left the scene, he took a wrench and Russell’s cell phone with him. Cox was arrested and booked into the Wayne County Jail on $26,000.00 bond.
