Waynesboro Man Arrested for Identity Theft

   Kenneth Donald Nutt, age 56, of Waynesboro, was arrested on Tuesday, July 12 on multiple charges after he allegedly obtained a debit card belonging to an individual who recently passed away. Nutt allegedly used the card to withdraw $300 from a local ATM on the day the cardholder passed away, and attempted to use it again the following day at the same ATM. The card had been deactivated by the bank by the time Nutt allegedly attempted to use it on the day after the cardholder’s death. Nutt was charged with theft of property under $1,000, two counts of identity theft, and two counts of illegal possession/fraudulent use of a debit/credit card. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $57,500.00 bond.
