Waynesboro Man Arrested for Hit and Run, Drug Charges

   Randy Garland Holt, age 33, of Waynesboro, was arrested on Tuesday, June 30th on multiple charges following a hit and run accident. The report filed by Officer Cody Jones of the Waynesboro Police Department stated that the vehicle Holt was driving was observed swerving into the middle lane, and the vehicle matched the description of an earlier hit and run. During the course of the traffic stop, K9 Buddy was deployed and allegedly hit on the passenger side of the vehicle. Upon a search of the vehicle, officers allegedly found 15 pills identified as Xanax, a glass pipe with white residue, a pill crusher, a pill container, and a spoon with white residue. Holt was arrested and charged with simple possession of schedule IV and possession of drug paraphernalia. In connection with the earlier hit and run, Holt was also charged with reckless endangerment, hit and run, and driving under the influence. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $27,500.00 bond.
