Waynesboro Man Arrested for Evading Arrest

   William Christopher Hackworth, age 23, of Waynesboro was arrested on Saturday, September 5th following a traffic stop by State Trooper Phillip Long. Trooper Long’s report stated that he observed Hackworth driving at a high rate of speed, passing another vehicle on a curve and putting those occupants at risk. Hackworth then allegedly turned off his lights and crossed into the other lane, and refused to stop for Trooper Long. When Hackworth was eventually apprehended, he was arrested on charges of felony evading arrest, felony reckless endangerment, and driving on a revoked/suspended license. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $21,000.00 bond.
