Waynesboro Man Arrested After Attempting to Flee from Police

   Jonathon Lee Vaughn, age 28, of Waynesboro, was arrested on Saturday, July 10th. The arrest report filed by Officer Darren Pounders of the Waynesboro Police Department stated that he observed Vaughn driving on a suspended license that he was previously aware of, and attempted to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle. Vaughn allegedly accelerated and continued to try to evade the officer at a high rate of speed on a gravel road. He then allegedly stopped the vehicle and ran into the woods, leaving the vehicle and two passengers behind. Vaughn was ultimately apprehended and arrested on charges of felony evading arrest, driving on revoked license, two counts of reckless endangerment, resisting stop/arrest, contempt of court, failure to appear, and violation of probation. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail with no bond.
