THE SHOW MUST GO ON! The annual Independence Day Celebration in Waynesboro City Park is always a great crowd pleaser. However, this year, many feared that the event would be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Thankfully, with the loosening of some of the stricter guidelines regarding outdoor activities, the decision was made by city officials that the event would go on as planned, with wonderful food, music, and a fireworks show that the big city folks come to Waynesboro to see!

The celebration will be held once again at the Waynesboro City Park, beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3rd. Admission is free for all attendees! Just bring blankets or lawn chairs in order to relax and enjoy the musical performances on Stage 64.

Beginning at 5:00, vendors will be set up all around the park offering many different kinds of food and other goodies. The music will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Wayne County’s own Billy Lawson and his band, Wishbone.

The night’s headlining performers will hit the stage at 8:00 p.m. Coming all the way from Nashville, Tennessee, country recording artists Parmalee will entertain the crowd with hits such as “Feels Like Carolina” and “Just the Way.”

The always-breathtaking fireworks extravaganza is set to begin at 9:00 p.m. The display in Waynesboro has come to be known as one of the best Independence Day fireworks displays in the entire state of Tennessee.

Mark your calendars for the event, and be sure to bring the whole family for an evening of great food, awesome music, spectacular fireworks, and an abundance of fun!
