On December 21st, 2020, the Waynesboro Police Department was assisted by Santa Claus in making special deliveries to ten children in the Waynesboro area. Each child received toys, a jacket, a Sonic gift card (donated by Waynesboro Sonic), and a Piggly Wiggly gift card as part of the annual Cops for Kids program. This program is special to the Waynesboro Police Department as well as other City of Waynesboro employees. Although the program was conducted a bit differently this year due to COVID-19, the officers were still honored to be able to serve families in the community. This was all made possible by the generosity of donations from the community and citizens, City Hall staff, the Waynesboro Police Department, Santa (aka Roger), and the Waynesboro City Commission.
