Wayne County Shooting Sports Members Win Big at 2022 Grand American

Wayne County Shooting Sports members Jacob Duren, Brady Duren, and Seth Swinea spent 11 days at the World Shooting and Recreation Complex in Sparta, IL, competing in the 2022 Grand American. Over 3,000 participants from the United States, Canada, and Brazil competed for 2600 targets on 3.1 miles of trap fields. Some big milestones were accomplished! Jacob Duren ran his 1st 200/200 straight during the Grand American Singles Championship Event and was 1 of of 62 perfect scores to have the honor of competing in the Championship Shoot Off that lasted two nights. Brady Duren won Junior Grand American Doubles Champion after winning the last shoot off of the night at 11:30pm under stadium lights. Brady earned his final punch in Handicap to the 27-yard line and was pinned by Kentucky Delegate Dan Ryan. Seth Swinea also earned his final punch to the 27-yard line and was pinned by his Doane University Shooting Sports Coach Richard Marshall, Jr. He was also in shoot off for yardage in the Grand American Championship Handicap.—Submitted
