Wayne County Sheriff Shane Fisher issued a statement earlier this week concerning an Assistant Fire Chief of the Ovilla Fire Department in Wayne County. The statement read:

“On Friday, May 21, 2021, after receiving a complaint of inappropriate conduct involving David Paul King, age 47, the Assistant Fire Chief of the Ovilla Fire Department, and a minor under the age of 15, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigated the complaint and charged David Paul King with Aggravated Statutory Rape and Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. King was arrested and has a $250,000 bond pending arraignment in Wayne County General Sessions Court.”

A spokesman from the Ovilla Fire Department reportedly told sources that “the situation on our end has been taken care of, he (King) has been removed and trespassed from the property and can no longer be a member of Wayne EMA.”
