The Wayne County Museum Committee met in February for their regular meeting. President Floyd Staggs called the meeting to order at approximately 6:15 p.m. Dean Stegall read the December minutes. The committee did not meet in January because of the weather. Jerry Duren gave the December financial report.

Unfinished business included an update from Jerry related to the Sports Hall of Fame sponsored by the Wayne County Museum. Jerry addressed activities for the event and assigned specific jobs to the committee members.

Other unfinished business was given by Ava Barnett. Because of COVID, and the inability to meet together and plan, the quilt show will be postponed until spring 2023. Ava also reported she had not been able to meet with Jenny Fielder to discuss the history of the building housing the museum. The committee is hopeful the information will result in a grant for the museum.

Dean shared a display, “Missing Man Table,” donated by Paula Barnhart in memory of Lloyd M. Leath, Sr., GYSgt USMC 1945-1969.

With no other business to be discussed, the meeting adjourned at 7:08 p.m. Members present were Floyd Staggs, Jerry & Erma Duren, Garry & Ava Barnett, Eddie Thompson, Elsie Hobbs, and Dean Stegall.
