Wayland R. Lowe, Sr. was born April 21, 1939 in Fonde, KY, the son of the late Fredmon and Helen Ruth Hamlet Lowe. He was united in marriage to Martha Risner on January 11, 1995. Mr. Lowe was a veteran for the United States Air Force, and a retired truck driver. He departed this life on August 2, 2022 in Waynesboro, TN at the age of 83 years, 3 months, and 12 days.
He is survived by his wife Martha Lowe; two sons, Wayland R. Lowe, Jr. and Betthany, and David Lowe, both of Waynesboro, TN; a daughter, Michelle Lowe of Greenhead, FL; six grandchildren, Jaxon Lowe, Lila Lowe, Lydia Lowe, Samantha Cratty, Nichole Surralt, and Shea Mcglynn; and two great-grandchildren, Teagan Gorsuch and Kash Martin.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lowe was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Phillips and a daughter, Dawn Paymaster.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN, with Timothy Owen officiating. The family has requested cremation following the funeral with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting the family.
