   Wanda Helen Howell Tucker, 68, homemaker and resident of Sixth Avenue, died Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

   Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.

   The family suggests memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandichols.com.

   Born March 8, 1951 in Lewis County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Ottis Howell and the late Mary Adair Howell. She was a graduate of Wayne County High School and attended University of Tennessee at Martin. Earlier in life she worked as office manager for Dr. Strickland, NHC, and in the admitting office at Maury Regional Medical Center. A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

   Survivors include her husband, whom she married April 20, 2002, Jim Tucker of Columbia; son, Darren Darnell; daughter, Kristi Darnell; stepdaughter, Cindy Salis; brothers, Robert (Susan) Howell, Larry (Linda) Howell; sisters, Fran Mires, Susan Russo, Sharon (Tim) Banks; grandchildren, Trevor Nicholson, Tyler Richardson, Audrey Darnell, Graidin Hensley, Aidriana Hensley, Juliana Ford, Olivia Salis, Garrett Salis; and several nieces and nephews.

   In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lana Rae Ford.

   Active pallbearers will be her nephews. Honorary pallbearers include Tish and Danny Warren, Mary Ann and Tim Owens, and Junior Cates.
