The Sons of the American Legion recently built a handicapped accessible ramp for Ms. Juanita Pulley. This ramp will allow Ms. Pulley to have easier access to her home. The Bank of Waynesboro, Wayne County Bank, and Peoples Bank all contributed to the purchase of the materials to build the ramp. This was the most recent community project completed by the S.A.L., who have volunteered many hours of their time to assist those in need in our county. Tommy and Lisa Fisher both contributed a great deal of their time as well to the construction of the ramp.

The inmate crew from the Wayne County Jail, supervised by Todd Ferguson, did a great job recently cleaning up Pointer Cemetery, where several veterans are buried.

The American Legion Post 130 in Waynesboro held a very successful fish fry on Saturday, June 20th. All proceeds go to assist veterans and their families in our county. George Mansfield’s Famous American Legion Hamburgers will have a vendor booth set up at Waynesboro’s Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3rd at the Waynesboro City Park.
