   Velma Christine Ayers White was born on July 4, 1928 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Joseph Turner Ayers and Jessie Mae Byrd. She was a seamstress for Angelica and a member of the Waynesboro Church of God. Miss White departed this life on June 12, 2021 in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 11 Months, and 8 Days.

    In addition to her parents, Miss White was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Wallace and Wanda Belsha, a grandson, Jeffrey Wayne White, and two sisters, Myrtle Martin and Pauline Smotherman.

    She is survived by two daughters, Violet Qualls of Waynesboro, TN, Phyllis Bunch of Waynesboro, TN; a son, William White, Jr. of Collinwood, TN; a sister, Bonnie Riley of Lewisburg, TN; 9 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

    Visitation was held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN. Services will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN with Tommy Burke officiating. Burial will follow in the McGlamery Cemetery at Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
