Two Waynesboro Men Arrested on Multiple Drug Charges Following Traffic Stop

   Roy Stephen Martin, age 33, and David Patrick Martin, age 28, both of Waynesboro, were arrested on multiple drug charges following a traffic stop conducted by Officer Darren Pounders of the Waynesboro Police Department on Wednesday, March 17th. Officer Pounders’ report stated that he performed a traffic stop on the vehicle driven by Roy Martin for failure to stop at a stop sign. When the officer ran Roy Martin’s information through dispatch, he discovered that his driver’s license was suspended, and he had a felony warrant (possibly armed and dangerous) out of California with full extradition. Lt. Jeremy Staggs arrived on scene to assist, and Roy Martin was placed into custody while the passenger, David Martin, was detained for further investigation. While patting David Martin down for weapons, officers allegedly discovered a marijuana pipe in his front pocket. A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed approximately 2.3 grams of methamphetamine, another pipe, approximately 10 grams of marijuana, digital scales, plastic bags, a marijuana grinder, a syringe, a butane lighter, and half of an Alprazolam pill. Roy Martin was arrested on charges of fugitive from justice, possession of schedule II methamphetamine with intent to resale, possession of schedule VI marijuana with intent to resale, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of schedule IV, and driving on a suspended license. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail with no bond. David Martin was arrested on charges of simple possession of schedule IV, possession of schedule II methamphetamine with intent to resale, possession of schedule VI marijuana with intent to resale, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Wayne County Jail on $90,000.00 bond.
