On Saturday, January 8, the Collinwood High School Trojanettes hosted the Lady Lions of Clifton. The Trojanettes started the game by scoring and kept the lead for the whole game. At the end of the first half, the girls were up 40 points with a halftime score of 50-10. The girls continued to dominate in the second half, being ahead 43 points by the end of the game with a final score of 68-25. The top scorer of the game was Tessa Statom with 21 points and 4 rebounds. Right behind Statom was AC Whitehead with 10 points and 11 rebounds and Danlee Bray also with 10 points and 1 rebound. Alyssa Gray had 7 points and 6 rebounds, Harlee Haddock had 7 points and 3 rebounds, Hayley Siems had 6 points and 3 rebounds, Cimmie Willis had 5 points and 2 rebounds, and Janie Herdandez had 2 points and 5 rebounds.
Following the Trojanette-Lady Lion game, the CHS Trojans took on the FHS Lions. The Trojans played strong and were behind the whole first half, but were hot on the Lions’ tails. The Trojans were behind 4 points at the end of the first half with a halftime score of 26-22. The Trojans came back out strong and fought their way to the top, being up 4 points by the end of the game with a final score of 58-54. The top scorer for the boys was Noah Haddock with 16 points. Following Haddock was Joe Houston Thompson with 13 points. Benson Blalock had 9 points, Peyton Ward had 7 points, Blake Whitten had 6 points, Carter Smith had 3 points, and Fletcher Thompson and Kelsey Moore had 2 points each.
