The Collinwood High School Trojans and Trojanettes only saw action once last week due to an early week weather cancellation. On Friday, December 13th they traveled to Richland to face off against the Raiders. This road trip resulted in a win for the Trojanettes and a loss for the Trojans.
The Trojanettes were able to hang on to the win with a score of 50-48, by a last second shot put up by Asia Kelly. The Trojanettes were led in scoring by Kristen Retherford with 20 points and 1 rebound, followed by AC Whitehead with 14 points and 3 rebounds. Also scoring for the Trojanettes were Sophie Gobbell with 8 points and 4 rebounds, Asia Kelly with 4 points and 3 rebounds, Emily Kautsky with 2 points and 9 rebounds, and Hayley Siems with 2 points and 1 rebound. Brylee Harris added 3 rebounds, along with Rhianna McWilliams and Harlee Haddock each having 2 rebounds and Alyssa Gray with 1 rebound.
The Trojans started off slow and were unable to catch up, resulting in a loss with a final score of 78-47. The Trojans were led in scoring by Noah Hollis with 16 points. Also scoring for the Trojans were Peyton Ward with 6 points and 5 rebounds, Joe Houston Thompson and Aidan Baskins with 5 points each, Bryan Rozinski with 3 points and 5 rebounds, Kelsey Moore with 3 points, Joe Hensley, Dayton Scott, Tucker Thompson, and Noah Haddock with 2 points each, and Blair Holt with 1 point.
The Trojanettes now stand with a record of 6-0 and the Trojans with a record of 2-4. Both teams will look to improve their records this week in the Christmas Classic, which will be held at Collinwood High School on Thursday, December 19th and at Wayne County High School on Friday, December 20th.
