Mr. Tommy Cummins was born April 6, 1939 in Hohenwald, TN, the son of the late Prince and Jimmie Loretta Dicus Cummins. Mr. Cummins worked as a mechanic for Tennessee Valley Authority and was a member of the Baptist faith. He will be remembered as a family man. He loved nothing more than to get his entire family together for a big catfish dinner. Second to his love for family, he was an avid coon hunter. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed. Mr. Cummins departed this life on January 26, 2022 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 9 Months, and 20 Days.
He is survived by his wife Marla Ferguson Cummins; two sons, Terry Thomas Cummins (Jane), Tommy “Buddy” Cummins, Jr. (Janna); two daughters, Sherry Coppler (Rusty), Heather Holley (Josh); ten grandchildren, Bronson Ayers (Kandee), Eric Cummins, Landon Britt, Landon Cummins, Sury Ann Prince, Brennan Holley, Conner Cummins, Hayden Holley, Casen Holley, Olivia Cummins; five great-grandchildren, Corbin Ayers, Kris Howard, Kameron Howard, Claire Cummins and Zander Cummins. He is also survived by a special sister-in-law, Reba Cummins.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Cummins was preceded in death by two sisters, Patsy Gray, Marie Butler; and four brothers, Roy Cummins, James Hoyte Cummins, Johnny Don Cummins, Prince Cummins, Jr.
Services were held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors, Collinwood with Bert Spann officiating. Burial followed in the Memorial Gardens at Collinwood with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County assisting.
