Suzanne Carol Baker Walker, Collinwood, TN, was born October 3, 1950 in Humboldt, TN, the daughter of the late John W. and Florette Pennington Baker. She was united in marriage to David Paul Walker on July 10, 1976. Mrs. Walker was a retired school teacher with the Wayne County, TN (Collinwood, TN) school system and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was an English major having taught from 1971 to 2011 in special education and computer lab. Mrs. Walker enjoyed being a Beauty Control consultant, doing knitting and quilting work, antiquing, working with and making ceramics, and traveling. She was an avid reader. Mrs. Walker departed this life on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 69 Years, 8 Months and 13 Days.
She is survived by her husband, David Paul Walker of Collinwood, TN; a daughter, Laura Sherrill and her husband, James of Collinwood, TN; and a sister, Gail Thompson of Lexington, TN. At her request, her body was cremated with graveside services on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Rutherford City Cemetery, Rutherford, TN. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County is assisting the family.
