Susan Melissa Crews Grinder

Susan Melissa Crews Grinder was born January 3, 1973 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, the daughter of Lois Staggs Crews and the late Calvin Crews. Susan was employed with the Wayne County Board of Education as a teacher at Collinwood Elementary. She was a member of Canaan Freewill Baptist Church, TEA and NEA. She was united in marriage to Brenton Earl Grinder, Jr., August 5, 1995. Susan departed this life on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Wayne Medical Center, Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 48 Years, 30 Days.
She is survived by her husband, Brenton Earl Grinder, Jr.,; daughters, Brenna Claire Grinder and Caroline Crews Grinder; mother, Lois Staggs Crews; brothers, Bill Crews, Danny Crews, wife, Carole , Barry Crews, wife, Carol, and Jeff Crews, wife, Carol; sisters, Sharon McClain, husband, Randy and Jan Horton, husband,  Robert; sister-in- law,  Connie Crews all of Lawrenceburg (Wayne County), TN; mother-in-law, Saundra Grinder, Collinwood, TN; brother-in-law, Patrick Grinder, wife, Krystal, Arab, AL; and several nieces and nephews who adored their  “Sissy.” In addition to her father, Susan was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Crews; father-in-law, Brenton Grinder; sister-in-law, Kathy Crews; and great-nephew, Casen Wayne McClain.
Services were held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Danny Clark officiating. Burial was in Highland Methodist Church Cemetery, Lawrenceburg (Wayne Co.), TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Pallbearers were Jason Crews, Josh Crews, Eric Horton, Matt McClain, Blake Crews, Blaine Crews, Lance Crews, and Clay Crews.
