“Tennessee Crossroads,” the popular original PBS broadcast on WNPT-TV, Nashville, spent a day filming the story of The Bridges in Waynesboro for the upcoming season.

“We were all thrilled when the confirmation came through that a crew from ‘Tennessee Crossroads’ would be coming to cover The Bridges, thanks to the PR efforts of South Central Tennessee Tourism,” said Executive Director Christine Chapman, Wayne County Chamber of Commerce. “As the property has recently changed ownership, this is the perfect time to share this incredible story and encourage people from all over Tennessee to visit Wayne County and experience this global natural wonder.”

Producer Cindy Carter and the Crossroads crew spent several hours at The Bridges, interviewing historian Patsy Nutt and General Manager Vickie Petty. They captured the scenic beauty all around, with special focus on the bridges, the only known double-span natural bridges in the world.

The Bridges is owned by Stan and Winnette Bevis and their four children, Taylor, Morgan, Drew, and Nate, along with son-in-law Braden and grandson Clay. In addition to the opportunity to immerse in nature and tour The Bridges, the site features the Alpine Restaurant, lodging, inner-tube floats in the creek, hiking, and so much more.

Nashville PBS’s original production series “Tennessee Crossroads,” a PBS fixture since 1986, has taken viewers on a weekly journey, exploring the unique personalities, crafts, food, destinations, and events that make Tennessee a remarkable place to live and visit. Each episode offers an engaging look at the active, vibrant, and ever-evolving face of Tennessee.
