Mr. James Allen "Buddy/ Cat" Brewer was born in Waynesboro, TN on July 4, 1958 to the union of his parents, the late Mr. Lewis Walton Brewer and Mrs. Evelyn Devers Brewer. He spent his adolescent years in Wayne County attending school in Waynesboro and graduating from Wayne County High, the Class of 1976. He made Waynesboro his forever home, raising his children, attending church, and becoming a familiar staple in his community. During his occupational years, he worked as a machinist in the textile industry, working for Genesco Boot Company and Lincoln Brass Works until his health could no longer allow him to perform his vocational duties. He was of the Christian faith and possessed a deep love for his family and community. He cared for his mother for many years as her health declined and she transitioned to life in the local nursing home, visiting her and all the other residents daily, and could always be depended upon to deliver their favorite and specific candies they learned to expect from his visits. Many may remember him from his younger years, playing his favorite sport, “pool,” as he was known for his talents in the pool hall. Always in a good humor, no one was safe from his practical jokes he played on those unsuspecting of his mischievous behaviors but always performed in good humor. In his later years, he could often be seen around town riding with his best friend and constant companion, his dog “Mac.” He enjoyed the outdoors and riding ATVs, exploring all the wonderous beauties of nature. However, his favorite pastime was watching the Tennessee Vols football team take the field, never missing a game. Those who knew him best will remember him as a loving father, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, and friend.
