SNAP is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program formerly referred to as Food Stamps. The South Central Human Resource Agency has been asked by the State of Tennessee and the USDA to provide support to individuals 60 and over, along with disabled individuals of any age, by looking at their shelter costs and medical deductions (especially outstanding medical bills) to help determine eligibility for SNAP.

Bonnie Walker of SCHRA works with 13 southern Middle Tennessee counties, including Wayne. She encourages anyone who meets the above criteria to give her a call at 931-379-2955 to see if she can help you qualify for SNAP benefits. All the necessary paperwork may be completed by mail, fax, or email.
