Sharon Grey Gilchrist Mathers was born October 22, 1947 in Grove Hill, AL, to the late George G. and Eunice Lee Hinson Gilchrist. She married Michael Gene Mathers, July 7, 1967. Mrs. Mathers attended the Collinwood Church of God for many years. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, friend. She was a beautiful saint of God, a very anointed teacher of the Word, a powerful prayer warrior and loved to sing Gods’ Praises. Mrs. Mathers departed this life on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Maury Regional Medical Center, Columbia, TN at the age of 75 years and 6 days.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Michael Gene Mathers, Waynesboro, TN; daughter, Cindy Mathers Hollis, husband, Cory, Fayetteville, TN; sister, Sandra “Sandie” Morgan, husband, William, Waynesboro, TN; nephew, Jordan Kiddy, Savannah, TN and his daughter, Remi Kiddy-Bradley; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Monday, October 31, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, TN with Nelson Moffett officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
